The Married at First Sight season 18 reunion is hoping to clear up some shocking rumors.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the Tuesday, March 18, episode of Lifetime’s reality show, Michelle is given the opportunity to ask the experts a few burning questions about David and Madison’s shocking relationship.
“I’d be curious if you had any inclinations that there was something going on between them,” she tells Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson and Dr. Pia Goff, “before it was brought to your attention.”
Pastor Cal assures her that they had no idea “at all” while Dr. Pia adds that “we had no clue.”

During season 18 of Married at First Sight, the show’s three experts originally paired Michelle with David and Madison with Allen. As cameras rolled during the newlywed phase, however, David and Madison began developing feelings for each other.

During part one of the reunion show, which aired on March 11, David and Madison confirmed they are still together one year after the show wrapped filming. They also announced that they are living under the same roof.
“We’re very happy,” Madison told host Kevin Frazier. “He makes me feel like the most special person in the world without even trying. He’s the best.”
When given the chance to talk to the experts, Michelle and Allen also wanted to inquire about some chatter spreading about the season.
“There’s also been rumors spreading that you originally paired them together and, last minute, you switched Madison and I,” Michelle explains. “That Madison and David were originally paired together.”
Pastor Cal immediately denied such speculation and called it “complete BS.”
Dr. Pia added, “We can only go off of what we’re told. When these individuals fill out these forms of what it is that they want, what we worked off of is what we were directly told. We were thinking of someone else for Madison but race was a factor. What can we do with that? We’re not psychics.”

From Pastor Cal’s perspective, signing up to meet your spouse on Married at First Sight isn’t the time to experiment and explore new possibilities.
“Marriage is not the time to try something,” he explained. “If your history has been that I’ve never dated anyone of a different race, I’m not going to match you.”
