Jason Aldean believes Carrie Underwood deserves a round of applause for her latest performance.
“First of all, it’s a hard song to do anyway, and when you’re supposed to be singing to a track and that’s what gives you pitch reference for the song,” Aldean, 47, shared on the Tuesday, January 21, episode of Fox & Friends. “To not have that, for her to just kinda say, ‘All right, listen, we’ll go.’ That’s a big move and that’s a pro move on her part, so I thought it was great.”
On Monday, January 20, Underwood, 41, sang “America the Beautiful” during President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
During the live performance, the American Idol winner — who wore an Opificio Modenese dress and INGILIZ heels for the occasion — experienced a technical glitch. She quickly offered to sing a capella for the crowd gathered inside the U.S. Capitol building.

Underwood wasn’t the only country singer to perform during Trump’s presidential inauguration.
Aldean was given the opportunity to perform at the Liberty Ball, geared toward the president’s supporters.
“Everytime I think I’ve done it all …This was a whole different ball game for me,” Aldean shared on Fox News about the opportunity. “It was just a huge honor to be there and be part of that night. It just kind of feels electric. Everybody is just excited for this new chapter of where we are headed.”
Jason’s wife, Brittany Aldean, also shared her thoughts on the evening in a social media post.
