Giannis Antetokounmpo knew right away that his $500,000 prize for winning the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup would go directly to his family.
“I just got married, my wife’s a little bit needy, so I might have to get [her] a gift,” Antetokounmpo, 30, jokingly said of his plans for the prize money after the Milwaukee Bucks won the tournament in Las Vegas on Tuesday, December 17, in an Instagram video shared by the NBA. “It’s Christmas.”
For winning the NBA Cup, every Bucks player will receive $514,970. Antetokounmpo joked that in addition to treating wife Mariah Riddlesprigger to something special, a majority of the cash will be spent on his children.
The couple share sons Liam, 4, and Maverick Shai, 3, and daughter Eva Brooke, 16 months. Antetokounmpo also confirmed that he and Riddlesprigger are expecting baby no. 4 after online speculation that the social media personality was pregnant.
