Alec Baldwin is getting ready for the release of his new family reality series Spellbound — but he isn’t quite sure if he did the best job while filming.
“I wasn’t very fun,” Baldwin, 66, told the Associated Press at the Spellbound premiere, noting that he likes to have an actual script in front of him. “Tell me what to do!”
Spellbound, which will premiere on TLC in January, will document the life of Alec, his wife Hilaria Baldwin and their seven children — Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María, 3 and Ilaria, 2. (Alec’s 29-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger, doesn’t appear to be part of the series.)
In June, Hilaria, 40, and Alec announced that they would be starring in their own reality show with their kids.
“We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” Alec said in their social media announcement at the time. “Home is the place we love to be most.”
Shortly after revealing their new series, a source told Us Weekly that Hilaria had “been asked for years” whether she’d consider a reality show.

“They always remark that their living situation is perfect for reality because they have so many kids with big personalities. This is their chance to show the world what their life is like on a day-to-day basis,” the insider shared, adding that the TLC series will focus on “all the chaos with the kids, the animals and their careers.”
The show came as a surprise to many, as Alec stood trial this summer after Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died in 2021 when she was shot with a prop gun that he was holding on set. Alec denied that he pulled the trigger and claimed he didn’t know there was a bullet inside the chamber when he was holding the firearm.

“The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin said in a 2021 interview with ABC News. “I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never. I have no idea [how a bullet got in there]. Someone put a live bullet in a gun. A bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property.”
